Description:
Storyteller: Adele Moss
A poor woodcutter makes all his family happy with a clever wish. This traditional story shows that if people have generous hearts and good motives, it is possible for conflicting wishes to come true.
Adele first heard this story on the radio told by Sally Pomme Clayton. More recently, Taffy Thomas told a very short version also on the radio during an interview after he was made storyteller laureate.
For a short contemporary version, you might also like to listen to our audio One wish by Chris Smith.
