All aboard as The Story Museum gets a bus full of Animals!
Oxford Bus Company and One decorate Bus in support of The Story Museum
Oxford Bus Company is celebrating its partnership with The Story Museum by decorating one of its buses with an animal menagerie. The bus, which features animals including foxes, bats, rabbits and crickets, will be used to promote the museum’s current exhibition ‘Animal!’, which explores the roles of animals in stories including War Horse, Watership Down, Animal Farm and Wallace and Gromit. The exhibition has been critically acclaimed and has delighted thousands of visitors since opening in February this year.
During 2016 the Bus Company have provided free travel to The Story Museum to children at Windale School in Blackbird Leys to enable them to take part in a 6-month long project to boost their reading and writing skills. The animal-themed bus is now on the streets of Oxford to encourage other children and families to visit the Museum and enjoy some animal-themed story fun.
Andy Morison, Commercial Manager for Oxford Bus Company, said, ‘We’re delighted to support the great work of The Story Museum this year. We hope people will have lots of fun spotting our animal bus on the streets of Oxford.’
Local design company One also donated their time and expertise to create the bus livery for The Story Museum.
Paul Simpkins, Head of Design from One, said, ‘We had great fun thinking about which animals to put on the bus and if you look very carefully you’ll see some quite small animals hiding away in unexpected places!’
The animal-themed bus will be on the streets of Oxford throughout the Autumn and The Story Museum and its Animal exhibition is open to the public daily during the holidays and from Friday-Sundays during term-time. For full details on opening times and exhibitions visit www.storymuseum.org.ukGo back
