Party Terms And Conditions
Thank you for considering The Story Museum as a venue for your party, we will strive to make your event the best it can be and supply some added sparkle!

Booking and Confirmation Procedure
Initial enquiry by telephone or email will be considered a provisional booking. Following these initial enquiries a letter or email will be sent to the client confirming the hire requirements and fee. Agreement to the arrangements must be made in writing to confirm the booking.

A provisional booking will be held by the Hire Coordinator for seven days, but if an enquiry from another person is received for the same dates, this booking will need to be released or confirmed immediately. Final details for each event must be received by the Facilities Manager 7 working days before the date of the event. This includes room layout, number of people, and equipment requirements.

Any catering requirements (numbers, menu requirements) must be confirmed at least 8 days in advance. Any additional staffing requirements such as the Museum’s own Party Host or Entertainer
must be made 10 working days to ensure staff can be found. All reasonable effort will be made to accommodate any requests made after these deadlines but cannot be guaranteed.

Annual Pass-holders receive a full discount for each pass held if booking entry to the Museum as an extra to the Easy-Peasy Party. You must have a valid pass at the time of
booking and attending the birthday party to qualify.

General
The Story Museum will provide directional signs on the day of your event if necessary. No items can be affixed to the fabric of the building, on outside walls, trees, lampposts, street
furniture or any other objects in the surrounding area. A charge will be made for any damage caused. The Facilities Manager must be informed at the onset if Film Location Hire is the
fundamental reason for hire. Gift Bag Items and Museum Admission cannot be exchanged or refunded for monetary value.

Health, Safety, Liabilities
Whilst we have attempted to make it as safe as possible, the very nature of children’s play activity means that accidents can occasionally happen. Parental Supervision is essential at all times.
No alteration may be made to electrical items or any other equipment supplied for a party. Clients may not move furniture to their room from any other part of the building unless previously agreed.

Loss or damage to The Story Museum will be charged to the organisation, as will charges for cleaning rooms left unusually disordered. Any electrical equipment brought into The Story Museum for use during an event must hold a PAT certificate, or must have been purchased no more than one year ago. Smoking is not permitted inside the Story Museum or within the courtyard area.

Cancellations
Written confirmation must be received by the Facilities Manager to cancel a booking; if nothing is received the booking will remain confirmed and incur a charge. Events cancelled less than 15 days prior to an event incur a fee of 50% of the total room hire at The Story Museum’s discretion. Cancellations received with less than 8 days’ notice incur the full hire fee, however The Story Museum will negotiate the best possible terms with any third party supplier.

The Story Museum reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time without recompense if the Hirer fails to fulfil any of their obligations under this contract.
In the event of The Story Museum being unable to carry out its obligations under this contract, The Story Museum’s liability to the Hirer shall be no more than the amount already paid to The Story Museum by the Hirer.

The Story Museum reserves the right to substitute alternative accommodation of a similar standard at any time without prior notice. Events beyond the control of The Story Museum may occur that render The Story Museum unable to fulfil any or all of the requirements of a confirmed booking. Accordingly, The Story Museum may, at its absolute discretion, vary or amend activities extended to an event, and the Hirer agrees that no liability shall be attached to The Story Museum as a result.

The Story Museum will not accept liability for any inconvenience, loss or damage caused by interruption in or failure to provide services or facilities where such failure is due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: war, strike, industrial dispute, flood, fire, accident to premises or equipment, shortage of materials or labour.
Complaints of any services provided for a party must be made in writing seven days after the date of the event.

Payments
Payment for full room hire must be paid within 7 days of receipt of the invoice or at any point before.
