Description:
The Ragged School Museum (www.raggedschoolmuseum.org.uk) in East London has developed Polly's Story as part of its schools programme. The project aims to develop the language skills of children in reception and KS1, through storytelling and rhymes. These take place in the East End Kitchen, a reconstruction typical of the local area 100 years ago. The children consider the history of the house through the story of Polly, a girl who might have lived there. A “loan box”, “feely bags” and a tape recording are available for use.
