2016 Ticket Appeal

Share your love of stories by supporting The Story Museum’s 2016 Ticket Appeal  Our Tickets scheme provides free tickets to The Story Museum to children and families who would otherwise not be able to visit.

Please make a one-off donation today and help us achieve our target of providing a minimum of 150 free family tickets – a total of 600 people – for our 2016 exhibition.

The Story Museum works closely with local schools and the community to identify potential beneficiaries of our free-t0-access targetted activities to ensure that our approach of offering great ways to engage with great stories is available to as wide an audience as possible.

Recent examples of our funded projects include:

ABC Story visits
A rolling programme of free places at our weekly ABC story sessions for children under-3 in receipt of funded nursery places at Two-by-Two nursery in Blackbird Leys.

Extreme Reading Adventures
A group of Year 5 and Year 6 children were chosen by local schools to take part in a 6-week fully-funded project to boost their reading skills and encourage them to become readers for pleasure. The project took the children on six book-themed adventures designed to help them make emotional connections with reading and to make engaging with books a fun and immersive experience.

Learn to become a Literature Producer
Teenagers in Year 9 from two local secondary schools programmed a weekend of activity in the Museum for their peers, achieving their Silver Art Award as part of the process.

‘It was a good experience and I personally think I improved in organisation, planning, teamwork, independence and leadership.’ Year 9 student.
