Christmas Light Night

Oxford Harmony in courtyardOn one magical night every year, Oxford's museums and galleries stay open late to celebrate the arrival of the Christmas season.

The Story Museum joined in for the first time on Friday December 2011, with  storytelling, songs and music around the Christmas tree in our courtyard. Performance storyteller Katy CawkwellKaty Cawkwell wove pictures that lingered in the mind and St. Ebbes School choir and Oxford Harmony, a  band of local singers, sang Christmas favourites and well-known carols.

Oxford’s museums, Castle, Town Hall, theatres and galleries throw open their doors to the public for one-off late night viewings of their exhibitions and displays enhanced by special performances. Christmas markets, festive food and drink stalls and children’s rides add extra seasonal sparkle to the evening’s proceedings. All activities are free unless otherwise stated. Full programme

A big thank you to builder Shaun Bradford, who donated the large Christmas tree and lights in our dilapidated courtyard and his wife Diane, who stayed up 'til 3am to make the Christmas boxes round it.
