Saturday 23rd May - Sunday 24th May
About the event
‘WELL, BOY. DO YOU SINCERELY WANT TO LEARN THE UTTERMOST SECRETS OF TIME AND SPACE?’
‘Yes, I think I do, Sir.’
‘GOOD. THE STABLES ARE AROUND THE BACK. THE SHOVEL HANGS JUST INSIDE THE DOOR.’
Join us for Discworld Weekend, a celebration of Terry Pratchett’s phenomenally successful Discworld novels. On the 23rd and 24th May, The Story Museum will transform with a series of intriguing temporary installations including Death’s library and gardens, a hiring fair for apprentices, and a chance to sample the smells of Ankh-Morpork, Discworld’s largest city. Specially programmed events include films and games as well as readings from Stephen Briggs (voice of the Discworld audiobooks) and talks by Discworld super-fan Dr Pat Harkin, Terry Pratchett’s assistant, Rob Wilkins, and editor of Discworld Monthly, Jason Anthony. There will also be a special MURDER A CURRY evening with costumes , quiz questions, readings and magic.
As well a host of special activities, visitors will also be able to enjoy the museum’s regular attractions including Draw me a Story, Time for Bed and Extreme Reading, all of which will be sprinkled with a touch of Discworld magic.
The Discworld Weekend is included in museum entry. Tickets for the Murder a Curry evening will be sold separately. Please visit our website for more information including prices.
