Messing about in Boats

11:00 – 12:00

Inspired by Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’. Join Science Oxford for some scientific storytelling as we mess about with boats! We’ll set the scene with an extract from the book, before you and your child get creative by building and testing a floating raft. Looking at floating and sinking, properties of shape and materials, there’ll be plenty for you and your little engineers to learn in this fun and interactive workshop. Ages 3-7. £7/£5

In this engaging, hands-on workshop from Science Oxford, young engineers will investigate sustainable energy by designing and building their own water wheels, using our custom 3D printed pieces. They’ll have the chance to test, redesign and test again, until they have the best combination, then demonstrate this by lifting the most sweets! Ages 7-11. £7/£5
