A powerful collection of poems for older readers follows a boy from childhood to adulthood, charting his life growing up in an urban tower block.

Story

A collection of poems suited to more older readers, following the main character through his life as he grows. It threads together themes of fantasy, myth, and magic, illuminating the challenges of the young man’s life but also the joy.

Why we chose it

A powerful series of poems, which chart points in the life of the main character from boy to teenager to adult. They show range of form and content and offer snapshots of life in an urban tower block and moments of emotion or significance in a very real and recognisable life.
