The Poetry Exchange:

The Story Museum is preparing for a weekend of poetry with exciting events and the chance to take home your very own poem chosen specially for you. The weekend begins on Saturday 13 May with award winning performance poet Joseph Coelho, who will be sharing the mysterious rules of the Werewolf Club, how to look like a rainbow, and how to fold up your gran!

Then on Sunday 14 May, Korky Paul, illustrator of Winnie the Witch, has teamed up with Oxford poet John Foster to blast off with a Rocketful of Space Poems. Whilst John reads from his new collection of space-themed poems, Korky will be drawing everything from rockets to aliens, and planets to astronauts.

Finally throughout the weekend visitors can pay a trip to The Poetry Exchange, hosted by John Prebble. Come and talk about a poem that’s been a friend to you over a cup of tea and biscuit, and on leaving receive a special recording of your chosen poem as a gift.

Whether you’re passionate about poetry, looking to launch into space, or even a werewolf in hiding, you won’t want to miss out on this exciting weekend of events.

Tickets for Rocketful of Space Poems and The Werewolf Club are £7/£5 and can be bought at www.ticketsoxford.co.uk or by calling the ticket office on 01865 305305. Both events are suitable for ages 6+.

The Poetry Exchange is free with museum entry – call 01865 790050 to book a session. Sessions last 45 minutes.
