We’re looking for schools in the High Wycombe area to join us in a long-term partnership to deliver our Page Turners project.
Based on a similar successful scheme that has been running in Oxford for the past five years, the project will work with targeted students to inspire curiosity and increase literacy skills by providing unusual, immersive and emotional connections to stories and literature.
The Story Museum will come into school and run 10 story sessions over the academic year 2019/20 specifically designed to build reading confidence and encourage reading for pleasure. The sessions are aimed at children in Year 6 and Year 7 who have English as an Additional Language and/or who are finding reading and writing challenging or dispiriting and are therefore not making expected progress.
Closing date for expressions of interest is Tuesday 1 October 2019.
We are very grateful to the Rothschild Foundation for their support of this project.
