Christ Church Library Tour for Alice's Day 2023

This tour starts at The Story Museum - please arrive 15 minutes before your ticket time.

A rare opportunity to visit the beautiful Upper Library at Christ Church, where Charles Dodgson - better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll - was a mathematics tutor and also Sub-Librarian. In 1856 Dodgson became friends with Henry Liddell, the new Dean of the college, and his family. His friendship with the Liddell children led him to create one of the most famous and enduring children’s stories, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. There will be a special exhibition of manuscript and other rare material relating to Dodgson and to the Liddell family.
