Celebrate the Year of the Tiger with a week of activities including sculpture, calligraphy, dance and illustration in our holiday skills courses for children aged 8-12.

Book for the whole week and get a 10% discount!

MONDAY 8 AUGUST

Wild Sculpture
Today you’ll be working with professional artist Holly Burrows to create life-size willow sculptures of tigers! Our stripey friends will guard the Magic Common Room throughout the week and be the stars of the stories we create. Please come in old clothes and be prepared to get messy.

TUESDAY 9 AUGUST

Year of the Tiger
Get to know Tiger traditions and Eastern art, calligraphy, games and theatre with our friends from Snowflake Books. In the afternoon, hear some dramatic retellings of traditional stories about tigers from our fabulous Story Leaders and re-enact your favourite with dressing-up and props.

WEDNESDAY 10 AUGUST

Eye of a Tiger
Today, you’ll have a dance workshop with fabulous movement director Emma Webb, to a classic tiger tune! We’ll then look at some well-loved characters of tigers, be it from Frosties packets, Life of Pi, The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, or The Tiger Who Came to Tea, before creating our own tiger alter ego and having a Tiger Dance Off. Whose tiger is destined to win?

THURSDAY 11 AUGUST

Tyger Tyger
Today you’ll be treated to a special animal illustration workshop with awesome illustrator Chlöe Applin, author of Mole on Patrol (2022). In the afternoon, we’ll explore William Blake’s drawings and classic poem Tyger Tyger Burning Bright, and then get messy with painting and clay.

FRIDAY 12 AUGUST

Great Escape
Today we’ll work in teams on the ultimate challenge – creating our own tiger escape rooms to challenge our course-mates.

Wrap around care (9am-5pm) is available for a small additional cost. Please select this option during checkout.
