The nearest car park to The Story Museum is the Oxpens Car Park. Please click here for more information about parking in Oxford city centre and Oxford’s Park and Ride scheme but please note the Westgate Car Park is now closed.
There are no steps needed to access the shop and café. The ground floor of The Story Museum is accessible by ramp.
We have lift access to all of the first floor and lift access to the majority of the exhibition spaces on the second floor. However please note that the Narnia installation is only accessible by going down three steps so those in wheelchairs will not be able to access this part of the Museum.
All our ticketed events (storytellings, performances etc) take place in wheelchair-accessible areas of the building.
Accessible toilets are available on ground floor of the building.
Guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome.
Visitors with disabilities receive a concessionary ticket and if they require a companion or carer then this person receives a free ticket.
Relaxed Visits on the first Sunday morning of every month, are for those with autism, learning disabilities or sensory and communication disorders.
If you are part of a group who would be interested in a specialised tour of the exhibition (BSL-interpreted, ‘hands on’ for the visually impaired, or any other), please contact us.
Please note that noises are used to enhance the museum experience which might be difficult for those with hearing impairments. If you would like to discuss this before your visit please contact us.
