The Story Museum is planning a mesmerising day of theatre, live music, circus and family fun across Oxford in celebration of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. This year’s theme is ‘riddles and games’ and there’s no end of exciting events and activities for families to enjoy.
Visitors to Oxford are invited to dress up as the Cheshire Cat and take part in his scavenger hunt, join the Hedgehog Protest as they fight back against the Queen of Hearts, march with a troop of confused playing cards and enjoy the extravaganza of Circus Raj’s acrobats and illusionists.
Venues across Oxford will be involved in the festival including The Story Museum, Christ Church, The Ashmolean, Blackwell’s Book Shop, Bodleian Libraries, Museum of History of Science, Museum of Oxford, University of Oxford Botanic Garden, Alice’s Shop and Oxford Castle.
All this, as well as facepainting, crafting, puzzles, and games, means you’re sure to end the day with a grin worthy of the Cheshire Cat himself!
Alice’s Day takes place on Saturday 1 July 2017. Events start from 10:00 and most events are free.
Highlights of Alice’s Day 2017
With style and humour Curious Company take the audience down the rabbit hole and show them a curious time. Meet the Queen of Hearts, play game of Wonderland croquet and take your seat at a mad tea party.
Circus Raj are a “supergroup” of Rajasthan’s elite street circus performers undertaking breath-taking acts of courage and bravery. Be prepared for daring, music, laughter and surprise.
