A story from China which shows the rewards of honesty.

Story

An old woodcutter finds a baby in a basket and adopts the child, Chun Ping. Chun Ping is rewarded for his honesty while the woodcutter pays the price for his greed.

Why we chose it

Chun Ping was one of the stories in The Story Museum’s original audio stories collection. These stories are particularly suitable for learning to retell.

Where it came from

Storyteller Adam Guillain, who recorded the story for us, heard it first from his lecturer Judith Graham..
