Where it came from

George Szirtes was born in 1948 in Budapest and came to England as a refugee in 1956. He is a poet and translator and wrote first for adults. He won he Faber prize in 1979, was shortlisted for the Whitbread Poetry Prize in 1991 and won the TS Eliot prize in 2004.

How to be a Tiger is a collection of poems for younger children.
