A story from the Amazon region which tells how fruit first came into the world.

Story

The story of how fruit came into the world.

Why we chose it

The Tree of Life was one of the stories in our original audio stories collection. These stories are particularly suitable for learning to retell. It’s a story that asks listeners to respect nature.

Where it came from

Storyteller Adele Moss recorded the story for our audio collection. The story teaches how seeds spread and plant themselves in rainforests – and Adele has told the story in a rainforest house put up for a project in the Botanic Gardens. .

Where it went next

A good written version can be found in Saviour Pirotta’s Stories from the Amazon.
