Join Escapade Theatre for a fantastic workshop based on their production of Lauren Child’s Ruby Redfort. Try your hand at code breaking, knot un-tying and lock picking. Then come together and put your new skills to the test in a final challenge to defeat The Count!

Work with illustrator Sarah Edmonds to decorate the letters of your name inspired by Alphabetown to take home and hang on your bedroom door!
Make A Paper Town
14:00, £7/£5, ages 7-10
Inspired by Alphabetown, make a folded book that creates your own town complete with skyline and landmarks. Learn simple book folding techniques and how to add pockets and flaps to your creation. Then experiment with cut out shapes to create your town’s sky line before filling it with hand drawn landmarks, shops and characters. At the end of the session, take home your own book that can be added to, written in and also stood up like a mini theatre set!

An Anthem For Alphabetown

Alphabetown has come to Oxford, and chief architect and illustrator Sarah Edmonds has decided that the town needs its own national anthem. She’s enlisted the help of songwriter and musician David Gibb but they need your help too! Join Sarah and David for this one of a kind workshop featuring songwriting and live illustration, with the chance to perform the finished song at the end and wow your family and friends.

A Musical Tea Time With Alice

Take a seat at a very special table as we celebrate It’s Always Tea time with storytellng, music and puppet making from Estonia.
Enjoy the fantastical music of Silver Sepp’s quirky invented instruments as storyteller Piret Päär leads you into a landscapes of Estonian folk tales. Exhibition Artist Kertu Sillaste will be on hand to share the magic of making a puppet so you can continue the story at home.
