About the Curator
The pop-up exhibition is curated with Professor Karen Sands-O’Connor, an internationally recognised expert on Black British children’s literature from the University of Sheffield.
About the exhibition
Listen to this Story! will take visitors on a thought-provoking journey through 200 years of Black representation in British children’s literature, exploring the stories, characters and voices that have shaped generations of young readers. By tracing the long and varied history of Black presence in children’s books, it highlights the importance of seeing yourself reflected in stories.
This pop-up exhibition is aimed at families with children age 5+.
