The Portal is the start of your visit to the Galleries which includes the Whispering Wood, the Treasure Chamber and the Enchanted Library. Typical visit time to the Galleries is 60-90 minutes.

Plus - watch out for our time-travelling mice. As you journey through the Galleries see if you can spot our adventurous time-travelling mice who've left the Mouseum phonebox outside on Pembroke Street to seek story inspiration in the Museum's Galleries.

We provide free Audio Descriptive Guides to support your visit around the Galleries. These guides are intended for Visually Impaired or Blind visitors but can be enjoyed by all – just ask your Story Guide for one in the Portal and explore the Galleries, following the route they lead you along. You can also borrow a sensory backpack. Our sensory backpacks are designed to both calm and stimulate a child’s journey through the Galleries so that you and your child can make the most of your visit. Just ask at the ticket desk on arrival and our team can loan them for the duration of your visit.
